   In the beginning i liked the manhwa until ml appeared and ruined everything this fucking mathias ruined everything…kyle deserves this beautiful woman… some say leyla finished with mathias I shouted “what really” if she dared I would be disappointed in her….is she blind? or kyle is not in her eyes…despite kyle’s mother…kyle made an effort to see his father…i would like her to accept

   Just read the whole story thanks to @CallmeB84 and this story is just so toxic yet I still wanna read this because I am obsessed with this artstyle.Duke is abusive and manipulative mf male lead and Layla is dumb DUMB I can only describe her in one word.Only layla will suffer the hatred of society and Duke will live very comfortable life.Well that’s all I wanted to say and thankyou callmeB84 💋💋😘🤭❤️❤️your explanation helped me to not waste my time waiting for this shi

   i think before we can call Duke a toxic and dangerous man, we need to call Leila a mentally ill person! She willingly gets herself into Duke’s trap. She loves Duke but doesn’t want to admit it. She pushes Kyle away for no reason and turns her life into a dark drama. This is not Duke’s fault. Duke is a predator by nature and Leila exposes herself to him. If she really hated Duke, she would act like Annette Rosenberg, Annette would really run away from Heiner. She doesn’t play chase, she just wants to disappear from him, while Leila enjoys playing with Duke. Yes, I admit that Leila makes me angry.
   Thank you for writing the main storyline. I’d like to know what problems Leila will face in the future.

   @CallmeB84 if you think this book/manhwa is Very Dark then my friend you should read Captive in the Dark book series. Most of the time you’d be crying and after finishing it you’d be straight in trauma for at least a month

    Ok, I did a super fast read through of the rest of the book so I’ll cover the main events. ‼️TRIGGER WARNINGS ‼️ (forced/nonconsensual touch/sex, death, violence, graphic situations)

    Most of the time, everyone except Layla’s uncle and Kyle treat her like crap. Claudine tries to humiliate/put her down every chance she gets because she knows Duke (Matthias) wants her (she even realizes he loves Layla before he does). Duke’s cousin is in love with Claudine and she has feelings for him, too, but wants to be a duchess and he wants her to have what she wants. Duke manipulates everything in Layla’s life to force her to be with him. He takes part in ending her engagement to Kyle (but it was Kyle’s mom that was the main culprit because she didn’t approve of Layla). Duke made sure she couldn’t leave for college. Layla’s uncle causes a huge accident and Duke uses her uncle’s freedom to blackmail Layla into becoming his mistress. Then it’s “her choice” to sleep with him instead of leaving her uncle in jail. Even though she agrees to it, the scene is barely consensual (she doesn’t want it and also likes it, but it’s pretty forced) and she feels shame and anguish for her body reacting to it pleasurably. He also keeps her from transferring to a far away school when she gets a teaching job nearby. This continues for a while, though she gets more into the sex and doesn’t understand why she has positive feelings about him when he’s awful and she hates him. He also doesn’t understand why he wants her so much or finds her so alluring. He doesn’t know why he can’t stop thinking about her and other emotions he’s not used to. This goes on for a while until she and her uncle run away/escape. She finds out she’s pregnant. Duke is freaking out (doesn’t know about pregnancy) and goes into a rage. Meanwhile, was times have hit. Uncle gets killed (I’m and air raid I think). She’s heavily pregnant and sick when Duke finally finds her (he’s reenlisted) and gets her to the hospital. She’s sick with a very high fever for days, delirious, in and out of consciousness, calling out for dead uncle and Kyle (Duke is upset she never calls for him). They don’t give her medicine because she would (probably) lose the baby. Duke says he doesn’t care if the baby dies and to save her, doctor’s refuse, Duke has a meltdown and shakes her telling her to live or he’ll kill the baby and himself. She begs him to save their baby. Duke even calls for Kyle (also enlisted) to talk her into taking the medicine (or forcing it down her throat) and to comfort her. Kyle refuses to kills the baby. Fever finally breaks. Duke sends Layla with Kyle away and promises not to come after her again. She’s still out of it for a long while. Duke knows where she’s at, but stays away. Duke arranges to have Layla taken to a safer place. Before she can leave, more air raids. Duke is injured but goes looking for Layla. He finds her and she’s so happy. She knew he’d come for her. She confesses her love and they say I love you to each other and hold each other until they can leave. Duke sends her away and stays to fight. **I skipped over a lot at this point so if I’m missing major things, that’s my bad** She lives the remainder of her pregnancy in safety. Duke goes through a lot, but makes it bad in time for the birth. Happy family reunion. Flash forward and they have 2 kids and visit uncle’s grave. She has inner monologue about how it took her so long to realize that she’s loved him from even before that first (forced) kiss the we saw in chapter 33. That she loved and hated what he did to her. She knows it’s all toxic and that he was terrible, but that he’s the only one she’s ever thought of that way and that “it works for them” (whatever tf THAT means). He’s leaned how to love and treat her like a normal person would and they get married, etc. It’s a very, VERY dark “romance” and I highly doubt they’ll show a lot of stuff. I can’t help but love the art style, but you’re definitely reading at your own risk.

    I dislike this story a lot. I’m not saying this to hate but i started out loving it so i decided to dig more about the story spoilers from the novel and I’m completely disgusted with the ML I wish she wouldn’t end up with him but like in every romance story she will no matter what we say about it unless the author decides to change it. I don’t recommend reading it but this is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt at the end of the day
